This is my brother's christmas gift.....A quick little drawing of Johnny Colon, a latin musican that knows how to jam check out his song "descarga". My brother and I collect records and we're happy to know we have some of his albums....I used crayola colored pencils for this .......

I got a chance to sneek in two drawings in my sketchbook this week (my hands were itching to draw), playing around with crayola colored pencils that my girlfriend bought me, she's the best.....So I drew these, lot's more to come, this winter break

It's been a very busy week and I'm finally giving in the white towl....This is my first semester oil painting and it's been a learning experience, that needs improvement.....I'm so gonna paint over winter break cause I need the practice....I'm hoping to meet up with some cats from school and go paint or draw........Anyways I couldn't finish this painting but it'll have to do....I don't want to keep on goin half asleep and mess it up, so I might as well stop...anyways this is a work-in-progress for clothed figure painting.........along with a drawing in my sketchbook

"Comp painting Final" (final)

Ok here it is.... This is my first oil painting illustration and I am pretty happy with it....I would like to give thanks to my teacher John Wentz for helping me out in the process of this painting....He made me push myself and challenge myself...I can go on about John, all I can say is that, if you're at the academy take his class its worth every penny....Aside from that, this is an illustration based on the mission district, back in 1970's-early 1980's, cruisin was the thing to do and so to make a long story short I rather paint and show you this....

Here are some thumbnails for my composition painting class with John, It's going to be an illustration based on "Bombas" in the mission district....I will explain later more in depth on what my illustration is about, but for now here are my thumbnails and the one I'm working with is the lower right hand corner sketch... I've already made corrections on the thumbnail so it can go to the next stage which is a value study along with some concept designs for the cars and buildings.... So lot's more to come

I've been so busy with learning how to paint, that finally today, I felt like putting what i've learn into digital....so I did a study based on a sketch i drew and it came out like this... I still have lots to learn, but I definately know that taking oil painting classes has helped me out a lot....Anyways back to oils

"Oil Painting" Composition Painting

For our first assignment in my composition painting class, it was a still life painting....John Wentz strongly suggested to go out and take random pictures of things that have interesting shapes...So I went out to Haight st. and down Mission st. San Francisco and found a lot of interesting objects...and so i drew 6 sketches for John to see, and we decided to go with the painting I've shown on my blog....I'm sorry for the picture quality but it's the best I can do right now....

"Oil Painting" Clothed Figure Painting

Sorry for not posting, but the thing is that, I have no internet, since i recently moved to a new place.. I have also been loaded with a lot of homework... I've been busy learning how to paint in oil...It was recommended from a good friend to take oil painting classes...cause it will help me when I start getting really into digital paintings..I'm taking clothed figure painting and composition painting......I must say that I have two great teachers, one of them bein John Wentz, which is a great painter and very inspirational so I know his class is gonna benefit me when I take more illustration classes....The first painting imma show, is my clothed figure painting assignment, which is just a figure in a indoor enviornment and so I came up with this piece....
